i'm sara & i love making things. i always have. my mom had a basement studio in the house i grew up in and it had these long tables in it where she would paint on anything and everything that needed 'something extra'. she hand-made every single one of our halloween costumes each year, and never hesitated to sew the loose buttons back on our jackets. it's very clear that she's the one who gave me the creative itch. i can't look at something in a store or online without thinking to myself, hey i could make that. so, thanks mom. i work as a resource coordinator & learning specialist for high schoolers with learning disabilities -- and i love it. up until recently i was just another microwave-meal-eating college grad until i realized i could transfer my love of creation into the kitchen. brilliant. my one-bedroom apartment is physically centered around the kitchen, which is perfect because i absolutely love hosting parties and entertaining friends (with the help of my insanely handsome partner, joey). it only seemed natural to call my beautiful combination of crafting & cooking, the kitchen book.
