the gluten-free trend

It's time to get personal over here at The Kitchen Book:

I've been feeling really miserable after meals the past few days (and weeks and months) and I'm researching the idea of possibly having a food intolerance.

....just like every other white girl in this city.

But the reality is, it's no fun feeling sick after eating.
I want to find a solution to this problem.

To do that, I'm doing a food challenge.
and not the kind where you try to eat as many hot dogs as possible in less than 2 minutes.
#disgustiiiiiing

I'll cut out gluten from my diet for 3 weeks.
Reintroduce it.
& see what happens.

If nothing happens, then gluten is not the problem
yay bread! and bagels! & english muffins!
and tortillas! & pancakes! and grilled cheese!
& everything delicious!

If the stomach cramping comes back,
Then gluten is the problem.

no fun.

Today was day 1.
I packed carrots & yogurt & turkey
& cheese & coffee & bell pepper & a banana
and I felt proud.

Then I forgot & I accidentally ate a donut from the faculty room.
It was the last cream-filled, Halloween-themed Krispy Kreme.

What was a girl to do??

So tomorrow will be the New Day 1.
